You flushed what?!?
Braedon and Dawson are always coming up with games to play together. On the rare occasions that they are getting along these games keep them entertained for quite a while. The other night was one of those nights. I was in Taelor's room reading her a story and the boys were laughing having a good time. I was not sure what they were doing but they weren't fighting and nothing sounded like it was getting broke so I 'assumed' they were just having a good time. Indeed they were!! They decided to get on the top bunk bed and see who can throw a ball in the toilet first. (The boys room is right across from the bathroom) They were having a grand time. Everytime I came out in the hall they would get quite and giggle. They do this often so I looked them with the 'whatever you are doing better stop' look. My mom came over like she often does and we were chitty chatting when the boys said, "Hey Grandma do you need to go potty?" I thought that was strange but again no red flag. Then Braedon says well I need to go. So in the bathroom he goes with Dawson running behind him giggling. Then out comes Dawson and says,"Braedon flushed TWO balls down the toilet!!" What? (Going through my mind are thoughts of, are you kidding?, you are 11 years old not 2!! ) So in I go and he is standing there with a very guilty look on his face. He says," I needed to go potty and I just accidentally flushed it!!" I could not believe the story they are telling me. They proceed to tell the story of being the first to throw a ball in the toilet. So I try the plunger, no luck. I told the boys they needed to call their dad and tell him. Both of them say,"I am not calling him, you do it mom!!" So since I really did not know what else to do I started to laugh. What am I going to do? Shane is going to be furious!! Slowly I call him and tell him the story by the end I am laughing again. Clearly he did not think it was as funny as I did, He HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! So I called my father in law to see if he had any advice for me, he laughed too. The boys were then told to write a letter to their dad and tell him their side of the story since they would be in bed by the time he got home. Dawson did not want to write much because he did not want Braedon to get in more trouble then him since Breadon was the actual flusher. Dawson brought out all the money he had in his wallet and left it with the note on the counter. Breadon did not want to write so I wrote while he told me what to say. His note went something like this, "Dad I don't know why I flushed the toilet I think I have a mental disability!! Sorry!" Theyboth felt really bad and cried for a long time. Dawson even tried running away and Braedon thought he should beat himself up. So after I got Dawson back in the house and Braedon to quit hitting himself we talked about how they really should think these games of theirs through before they play them. Shane got home about 10:30 and we took the toilet out and stuck the wire plumbing snake it the toilet and out came one ball. The other is apparently in a better place..... The good news is we did not need a plumber, the boys lived through the ordeal, they decided they will NEVER play that game again, and Shane has since calmed down. Moral of the story: Think before you flush!!!

That is one of those stories that gets funnier as time goes on! That night it wasn't funny...I did not want to be there when Shane came home! Luckily he had time to calm down before he got there and the kids were asleep. The games kids come up with! And the fact that they thought it would be an OK thing to play...SERIOUSLY!!! (But now that time has passed it is funny!)
